Donner Lake Train Tunnels!

We stumbled upon the Donner Lake old train tunnels after chatting with a few people who live in Truckee during the Summer.

These historic tunnels are covered in street art and really fun to walk though. This is an easy short hike most can do. It can be dark in the tunnels so we reccomend a flashlight or head lamp. Though, not necessary, it’s always fun to use them and not have to guess where your feet are going.

Bonus! Kids love flashlights so it’s a really great bribery tool.🔦

Be aware that these tunnels are old and are dark so they can be icy and chilly in the late spring and summer.

With a stunning view of Donner Lake it really is a wonderful place to checkout.

Here are a few of the pictures we took from our hike!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to sign up for emails on our future adventures.
