Deer Creek Tribute Trail

Hi friends! Our 52 Hike Challenge is wrapping up and I wanted to take the time to share our experience at the Deer Creek Tribute Trail in Nevada City.

We went on a sunny fall Saturday afternoon and packed a picnic lunch. Fed the kids at the trailhead and off we went. The trail was full of fall foliage. Stunning views and an easy pathway made it easy to cruz down the short trail to the suspension bridge below.

This hike is pretty easy and you can hike to the bridge in about 10 minutes.

Stroller Life: This trail is easy enough to push a large wheeled jogger but if you want to hike past the bridge pushing the stroller up the ravine might not be “easy” yet still doable. A hiking pack might be a better option to get a few miles in on the trail. This out and back hike is 8.5 miles if you go the whole way.

A short drive from Nevada City makes this a fun hike easy to turn into a day trip. Stay snd have lunch, browse the local shops, and take in some history from this historic town in the foothills.

Enjoy and be sure to let us know what you think when you get a chance to visit.

Cheers,

The Curious Crew
