Trying to beat the snow we headed up to Spooner Lake for an end of the season hike. We enjoyed staying a few nights at the Welk Resort in Northstar! From there it was about a 40 min drive to the Nevada State Park recreation area. (However, you could easily do a day trip up from the Sacramento Area.) Parking was $10 (bring cash) but well worth it as we spent half the day here. We walked around the lake with some friends and the whole hike is about 2.5 miles. It was flat and I could have pushed a jogging stroller along the well-maintained trail!
Have you visited this area before? Do you know about any side hikes or nearby trails that we should check out next time? I’d love to hear about them in our comment section below!
Cheers,
The Curious Crew
